ADHD symptoms
Symptoms of Yanagi's catatonic episodes include:
Arguing or conversing with imaginary individuals.
Loss of speech.
Voluntary assumption and maintenance of inappropriate or bizarre postures.
An apparently motiveless resistance to all instructions or attempts to be moved changing to maintenance of a rigid posture against any efforts to be moved.
Mimicking speech or movement.
Episodes of violent excitement manifesting from apparently purposeless motor activity, not influenced by external stimuli.
Criminal record:
Rape:
Originally taken into custody for raping his brother. Sectioned, and declared mentally unstable, it was recomended he be kept under close surveylance.
GBH:
Accused of GBH at the age of 19. Escaped charges due to mental health issues. Stabbed a police officer several times with a piece of glass, claimed the man had been following and stalking him.
Attacking a female member of the nursing staff at his previous hospital, seemingly unprovoked. Banged the womans head against a wall repetedly and then attempted escape. Caught only by security after being sedated. Twice.
General:
Yanagi is a very inteligent individual, who shows deep understanding of mathematic and scientific principals. Highly strung, presents ADHD symptoms in lack of concentration and hyperactivity within certain situations. Experiences frequent and violent halucinations which vary in intensity and subject during psychotic episodes.
Claims to hear voices.
Was admitted to a mental institution shortly after the court case was closed, being found covering his room with number sequences in what appeared to be blood. The source of which was never found. Becomes violent when provoked or denied something. Otherwise is calm and level headed, which allows people to have in depth conversations with him. Psychotic episodes have been reduced with medication, however, they remain unpredictable and occur more frequently when Yanagi is placed under emotional stress.
